Record £30,000 prize fund for AgriScot's dairy classes in landmark year
AgriScot's dairy classes will offer a record £30,000 prize fund this year, up from £25,000 in 2025, as the UK's leading agricultural business event celebrates its landmark 25th anniversary on Wednesday 18th November 2026.
The increased prize fund comes as Lely joins as a new sponsor of the dairy classes, taking place in the main ring alongside the event's wider programme of over 240 trade stands, seminars and competitions.
Classes will once again be held for Ayrshires, British Red and White, Holsteins, Jersey and Any Other Breeds. Following its successful launch in 2025, the Youngstock Classes return this year, open to entrants aged between 5 and 30 and designed to encourage the next generation of dairy breeders.
The ever-popular SuperHeifer and SuperCow titles are also back, each carrying a £1,000 prize fund and drawing some of the finest animals in the industry.
Last year's inaugural Youngstock Classes were judged as an interbreed class with 19 competitors. First prize for calves born between 1st September 2024 and 28th February 2025 went to Joshua Atkinson and Joanne Coulthurst with Absolute Doorman Santorini.
The category for calves born between 1st March 2024 and 31st August 2025 was topped by D&J Brewster and D Gray with Whinchat Crown Royal Sara. The SuperHeifer 2025 class went to Family Airey, with Newcroft Lambda Farida and the winner of the SuperCow title was awarded to Evening Holsteins, with Evening Sidekick Jennifer.
David Booth, this year's judge of the dairy cattle classes said:
"I am really looking forward to AgriScot. It's a prestigious event with a genuinely impressive quality of entrants, and it remains the premier date in the calendar for anyone in the industry.”
The entire programme of judging activity will once again be live streamed, allowing audiences to join remotely and witness the activities at this year’s 25th event.
Meanwhile, a packed ringside is expected to deliver the same vibrant atmosphere that has become a ‘hallmark’ of the AgriScot experience.
Accommodation applications close on Friday, 9 October and cattle entries close on Friday, 16 October.
