Jo Learmonth is a freelance journalist with a BSc.(Hons) in Agriculture, specialising in crop science and a MSc. in Crop Protection. After undertaking the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists John Deere Training Award in 2014, she realised she loved to write and her extensive knowledge of cropping systems led her to specialise in arable technical writing. Jo has written regularly for the Farmers Guardian and her work has appeared in all the UK’s major agricultural publications. She has been a JCM Associate for 8 years writing in season technical bulletins for growers and agronomists, in depth features, press releases and blogs across their arable accounts. Jo is a partner in the family mixed farm in Aberdeenshire where she is actively involved with all aspects of the business, spending summers studiously avoiding the need to reverse trailers into tight spots.
